Super Flat Floor Properties

A specialized tolerance technique known as the “F-min” (F minimum) tolerance system is used to build super-flat floors to significantly tighter tolerances than traditional floor slabs. A lift truck’s floor surface’s maximum variation is defined, and this is the foundation of the F-min system. Reliability of the lift truck operation is maximized by optimizing the floor surface. Using these specialty lift trucks on regular terrain might lead to picking issues (such as rack impact) and higher maintenance expenses. The control of highly accurate transverse and longitudinal tolerances is achieved through pouring the concrete in narrow strips using specialized formwork, materials and methods of construction. A reasonably smooth random traffic floor tolerance is found on the FF30/FL20 floor (on the left). The table below gives a general idea of the F-min tolerance requirements for any floor based on the maximum rate of change per foot of movement in the longitudinal direction for a lift truck, even if the tolerance definition for each specific environment is relatively complex. Super Flat Floor Essential

Pouring in a strip is required. Strip pour procedures are required for construction approaches in narrow aisle high-rack automated guided vehicle (AGV) environments due to the difficulties of obtaining these extremely strict longitudinal and transverse tolerances.

Very flat flooring DO NOT have transverse saw cuts. A extremely flat floor might quickly become unworkable due to tolerance losses brought on by drying shrinkage curling at transverse contraction joints. Thus, transverse cracking (which astonishingly maintains flat) is predicted. In addition to reinforcing for applied loads, the designer should also consider these longitudinal shrinkage stresses.
